KPV
What is KPV?
KPV (Lysine-Proline-Valine) is a tripeptide and the smallest biologically active fragment of the anti-inflammatory hormone α-MSH (alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone). Despite its small size, KPV retains potent anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties while eliminating the pigmentation effects associated with full-length α-MSH. It works primarily by inhibiting the activation of NF-κB, a master regulator of inflammatory responses, thereby reducing the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and inflammatory mediators. KPV has shown particular effectiveness in treating inflammatory skin conditions like psoriasis, dermatitis, and eczema when applied topically. Its small size allows good penetration through the skin barrier. Research also indicates potential benefits for inflammatory bowel diseases, as KPV can reduce intestinal inflammation and promote gut barrier integrity. The peptide's targeted anti-inflammatory action with minimal side effects makes it a promising therapeutic option for various inflammatory conditions.
