PT-141 (Bremelanotide)

PT-141 is a metabolite of Melanotan 2 that was developed specifically to treat sexual dysfunction. It is FDA approved for hypoactive sexual desire disorder in women and is effective for ED in men.

Mechanism of Action

It acts as a selective agonist of melanocortin receptors MC3R and MC4R in the central nervous system. Unlike Viagra (which is vascular), PT-141 works on the neurological pathway of arousal.
