Gut and digestive health: stomach, liver and pancreas bioregulators and what the evidence shows
Ongoing indigestion, bloating or bowel changes deserve a proper workup before any supplement. Guidelines call for testing for H. pylori, endoscopy for new indigestion from age 60, and celiac testing when IBS comes with diarrhea, because these find treatable causes. Digestive bioregulators (stomach, gastric-mucin, liver, bile and pancreas peptides) have only animal and lab research behind them, on different preparations. No human trial has tested any of the capsules.

Human studies and guidelines: get the basics checked
The 2017 ACG/CAG dyspepsia guideline suggests that people aged 60 or older with new indigestion have an upper endoscopy, and that younger people have a non-invasive H. pylori test and treatment if it is positive, then a trial of acid-reducing medicine if needed. These steps find and treat ulcers, infection and, rarely, cancer.
The 2021 ACG IBS guideline suggests blood tests for celiac disease and a fecal calprotectin test (to look for inflammatory bowel disease) in people with IBS and diarrhea, and recommends a limited trial of a low-FODMAP diet for overall IBS symptoms. Gut-directed psychotherapy also has evidence.

Human studies: digestive bioregulators
We found no human trial of any stomach, gastric-mucin, liver, bile or pancreas bioregulator capsule, including Stomek, Gastrogen, Liverra, Biltorin, Vita Detox, Stamakort, Suprefort, Svetinorm or Ovagen.
Lab and animal studies
The research closest to these products is a 2020 Russian review of the liver polypeptide complex Ventvil and the synthetic tetrapeptide Livagen (Lys-Glu-Asp-Ala). It summarizes animal models of liver injury and cell studies. The authors report protective effects in those models, but these are different preparations from the capsules, and animal results often do not carry over to people.
How to choose, if you try one
The Vita house line has single-tissue Stomek (stomach), Gastrogen (gastric mucin), Liverra (liver) and Biltorin (bile), plus Vita Detox, which combines liver, kidney, bile, stomach and gastric-mucin peptides. "Detox" is the label's word: it is not a cleanse or a weight-loss product. GARMONIA's Stamakort (stomach), Suprefort (pancreas) and Svetinorm (liver) are the original Cytomax products.
Use one product for one month and keep a symptom diary. Ask your clinician first if you have a digestive or liver diagnosis or take regular medication, since most drugs are processed by the liver.

FAQ
Do stomach bioregulators help with indigestion?
That has not been tested in people. The research behind digestive bioregulators is animal and lab work on related preparations. Indigestion that keeps coming back should be checked: H. pylori testing, and endoscopy from age 60, find treatable causes.
Is Vita Detox a cleanse?
No. It is a capsule of liver, kidney, bile, stomach and gastric-mucin peptides labeled for digestive comfort and metabolic balance. It is not a cleanse, a laxative or a weight-loss product.
Are there liver bioregulator studies?
There are Russian animal and lab studies of the liver complex Ventvil and the synthetic peptide Livagen, reviewed in 2020. There are no human trials of Liverra, Svetinorm or Ovagen capsules.
Can I take digestive bioregulators with my medications?
There are no interaction studies. Most medicines are processed by the liver, so ask your clinician or pharmacist first.
