Women's health and hormones: menopause and perimenopause treatment, fertility tracking and bioregulators
For hot flashes, night sweats and the sleep disruption that comes with them, prescription hormone therapy is the most effective treatment, and for most healthy women under 60 or within 10 years of menopause the benefits outweigh the risks (The Menopause Society, 2022). You can get it from your own clinician or an online provider. Cost can be low: Duavee is $30.30 for 30 tablets on TrumpRx. For cycle and fertility tracking, Natural Cycles is the only FDA-cleared birth-control app. Ovarian bioregulator capsules are supplements with no human trials and are not a substitute for any of these.

Menopause and perimenopause: what actually works
Perimenopause is the run-up to the final period, often in the mid-40s, when estradiol swings and then falls. Hot flashes, night sweats, poor sleep, mood changes and vaginal dryness are the common symptoms.
The Menopause Society's 2022 position statement calls hormone therapy the most effective treatment for hot flashes and genitourinary symptoms and says that for women under 60 or within 10 years of menopause, without contraindications, the benefit-risk ratio is favorable. Women with a uterus who take systemic estrogen also need a progestogen (or bazedoxifene, as in Duavee) to protect the uterine lining.
In November 2025 the FDA asked makers of menopausal hormone therapy to remove the cardiovascular, breast-cancer and probable-dementia statements from the boxed warning, and on February 12, 2026 it approved those changes for six products. The boxed warning about endometrial cancer stays on systemic estrogen-alone products, and the risks are still listed lower in the label. A personal or family history of breast cancer, blood clots or stroke still needs a real conversation with a clinician.
The cheapest legitimate route: Duavee for $30 on TrumpRx
Duavee (conjugated estrogens/bazedoxifene, Pfizer) is FDA-approved for women with a uterus to treat moderate to severe hot flashes from menopause and to help prevent postmenopausal osteoporosis. One tablet a day; the bazedoxifene component protects the uterine lining, so no separate progestogen is needed.
On TrumpRx.gov the 0.45/20 mg strength, 30 tablets, shows an out-of-pocket price of $30.30 against a $202.00 list price (checked Oct 7, 2026). You still need a prescription; TrumpRx gives a coupon to present at a retail pharmacy. If you have insurance, check your copay first, which may be lower.
Generic estradiol tablets or patches with micronized progesterone are the other common, inexpensive combination. Ask your prescriber which fits your history.
Online HRT providers
Online menopause care suits women who cannot easily see a clinician who treats menopause. You fill in an intake, a licensed provider reviews it, and if appropriate the prescription ships to you. Most women do not need blood or saliva hormone tests to start: menopause is diagnosed from age, symptoms and cycle pattern.
Prefer providers that prescribe FDA-approved estradiol and progesterone over custom-compounded "bioidentical" mixes. The Menopause Society's 2022 statement raises safety concerns about custom-compounded bioidentical hormones (minimal regulation, variable dosing and purity) and favors FDA-approved products where one fits.
Fertility tracking and natural birth control
Natural Cycles is an app that predicts fertile days from basal body temperature (a thermometer or a compatible wearable such as Oura or its own NC° Band) and period data. The FDA granted it De Novo clearance as a contraceptive app on August 10, 2018, the first of its kind. The company reports 93% effectiveness with typical use and 98% with perfect use. It does not protect against STIs.
It also has modes for planning a pregnancy, following a pregnancy, postpartum and perimenopause. Pricing is an annual or monthly subscription, shown at sign-up.
If you are trying to conceive, skip supplements whose labels exclude pregnancy, which includes every bioregulator capsule below, unless your clinician agrees.
Where female-tissue bioregulators fit
Ovarian peptide bioregulators (GARMONIA Zhenoluten, Vita-Stream's Ovalis) and the five-tissue Vita Woman complex are sold as dietary supplements for "female reproductive and endocrine balance." No human trial has tested them, and they do not replace estrogen. They are not a menopause treatment.
If you are already well managed and want to try one, check with your clinician if you take hormone therapy or thyroid medication. The labels say not to use them during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Female-tissue bioregulator capsules (Vita-Stream)
Dietary supplements with structure/function wording. No human trial has tested these products by name. Not for use during pregnancy or lactation (label). Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

FAQ
Is hormone therapy safe for menopause?
For most healthy women under 60 or within 10 years of menopause, The Menopause Society (2022) judges the benefits to outweigh the risks when HRT is used for symptoms. Risks depend on your history (breast cancer, blood clots, stroke, liver disease) and on the type, dose and route, so a clinician should review it with you.
Did the FDA remove the black box warning on HRT?
Partly. The FDA requested the change in November 2025 and on February 12, 2026 approved label updates for six menopausal hormone therapy products removing the cardiovascular, breast-cancer and probable-dementia statements from the boxed warning. The endometrial-cancer boxed warning remains for systemic estrogen-alone products, and the risks stay in the Warnings section.
How much is Duavee on TrumpRx?
$30.30 for 30 tablets of the 0.45/20 mg strength, against a $202.00 list price, when checked on Oct 7, 2026. It is an out-of-pocket coupon price for use at retail pharmacies and still requires a prescription.
Can bioregulators replace HRT?
No. Ovarian and female-tissue bioregulator capsules are dietary supplements with no human trials. They do not supply estrogen and are not a treatment for menopause symptoms.
Is Natural Cycles FDA-cleared?
Yes. The FDA granted Natural Cycles De Novo clearance (DEN170052) as a contraceptive software app on August 10, 2018. The company reports 93% effectiveness with typical use and 98% with perfect use.
Can I take bioregulators while trying to conceive?
The labels of the capsules on this page say not to use them during pregnancy or lactation, and none has been studied in people trying to conceive. Ask your clinician before taking any supplement when you are trying to get pregnant.
