Melanotan 2

Melanotan 2 (MT2) is a synthetic analogue of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH). It is widely used for its ability to stimulate melanogenesis (tanning) and enhance libido.

Mechanism of Action

MT2 is a non-selective agonist of melanocortin receptors (MC1R, MC3R, MC4R, MC5R). Activation of MC1R stimulates melanin production (tanning), while MC3R and MC4R activation increases sexual arousal and suppresses appetite.

Key Benefits

Potent tanning effect with minimal UV exposure
Significant increase in libido (men and women)
Appetite suppression
Photoprotection from UV damage

Research Protocol

Loading Phase
100-250mcg daily until desired tan
Maintenance
500mcg once or twice weekly
Start very low (50-100mcg) to assess tolerance to nausea. UV exposure is required for tanning.
