Thymalin vs. Thymus Bioregulators (Vladonix, Thymusol): Which Is Which?
Thymalin, Thymogen, Vladonix and Thymusol all trace back to the thymus, but they are not the same thing. A clear comparison of form, evidence and how each is used.
Table of Contents
Short answer: Thymalin is a calf-thymus polypeptide extract that was used as an injectable medicine in Russia, and it is where nearly all the human thymus-peptide data come from. Vladonix (GARMONIA A-6) and Thymusol (Vita Peptides) are oral capsules of natural thymus peptides, sold as supplements. They share the tissue, not the evidence: no study has tested Vladonix or Thymusol capsules by name.

The thymus family at a glance
| Name | What it is | Route | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thymalin | Polypeptide complex from calf thymus | Injection (Russian clinical use) | Russian studies from the originating group, e.g. PMID 14523363, PMID 12577695 |
| Thymogen | Synthetic dipeptide Glu-Trp, isolated from Thymalin | Injection / nasal | Russian clinical use |
| Crystagen | Synthetic thymus "Cytogen" | Oral capsule | Small Russian reports |
| Vladonix (A-6) | Natural thymus peptide extract (GARMONIA Cytomax) | Oral capsule | None product-specific |
| Thymusol | Natural thymus peptides, 15 mg per capsule (Vita Peptides V2, made in USA) | Oral capsule | None product-specific |
Do not confuse any of these with thymulin (a defined zinc-dependent nonapeptide) or thymosin alpha-1. Different molecules.
Thymalin: what the research actually covers
The best-known paper, Khavinson & Morozov 2003 (PMID 14523363), followed 266 elderly people who received injectable Thymalin and/or Epithalamin over 6 to 8 years. A Russian paper (PMID 12577695) reported on the geroprotective effect of the same two extracts. These are interesting, long-running studies, but they come from the originating group, used injections, and did not test any capsule. We do not quote their outcome statistics to sell a supplement, because that would be misleading.
Vladonix vs. Thymusol
Both are oral thymus-peptide capsules. Vita-Stream sells both.

Vita-Stream describes the Vita Peptides line as having its own manufacturer and labels, so treat Thymusol as the same tissue category as Vladonix, not as the same product.
Which to choose
- You want the thymus peptide with clinical history: that is injectable Thymalin, a prescription-route product outside the supplement world. Discuss it with a clinician.
- You want an oral thymus bioregulator: Thymusol is the US-made V2 option. Vladonix A-6 is the original GARMONIA capsule. (Affiliate links.)
- You want immune plus stress-response support in one capsule: Vita Defender combines thymus, adrenal and pituitary peptides (15 mg each, 45 mg per capsule). 60 capsules cost $215, against $405 for the three singles. (Affiliate link.)
Safety notes
The label lists individual intolerance, pregnancy and breastfeeding as contraindications. Vita-Stream's product pages do not state the source animal for each product; a generic FAQ on the site says young calves. Ask the retailer if that matters to you, and check with a clinician if you have an immune condition or take immune-modifying medication.
FAQ
Is Thymalin the same as Vladonix?
No. Thymalin is an injectable extract. Vladonix is an oral thymus-peptide capsule.
Is Thymusol the same as Vladonix?
Same tissue, different line and manufacturer. They are not stated to be identical.
Can you take Thymalin orally?
The human studies used injection. Oral capsules are a different product with their own (thin) evidence.
Is Thymalin the same as thymulin?
No. Thymulin is a defined nonapeptide; Thymalin is a mixture of peptides from calf thymus.
How long is a thymus bioregulator course?
Vita Peptides' label gives one month at 2 capsules, 1-2 times daily. See How to Cycle Bioregulators.
